Who We Are

eientea.com is operated by EIEN TEA PTE. LTD., a company registered in Singapore under UEN 202609314W, with its registered office at 9 King Albert Park, #01-30, KAP, Singapore 598332. “We”, “us” and “EIEN” mean that company. “You” means the person using this site.

Accepting These Terms

By browsing this site or placing an order you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

They sit alongside our Shipping & Delivery, Returns & Refunds and Privacy policies, each of which forms part of the agreement between us. Where a specific policy conflicts with these general terms, the specific policy governs its own subject matter.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract, or be using the site under the supervision of someone who is. Orders are accepted for personal, non-commercial use.

If you want to stock our tea or serve it commercially, contact us rather than ordering through this site. Wholesale runs on separate terms.

Products & Descriptions

Matcha is an agricultural product. Colour, aroma and flavour vary between harvests and between lots within a harvest, so our tasting notes describe a character rather than guarantee an identical cup. On screen, colour is affected further by your display.

Product weights are net of packaging. Best-before dates are printed on each tin. Keep unopened matcha cool, dark and dry, refrigerate it after opening, and use it within the period stated on the packaging.

Our teas contain caffeine. They are food, not medicine, and nothing on this site is a medical claim or a substitute for professional advice. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or managing a health condition, take advice before making matcha a regular part of your diet.

Allergen and ingredient information is shown on each product page and on the packaging. If you have a serious allergy, read the packaging on arrival rather than relying on the site. The packaging is definitive.

Pricing

Prices are shown in Singapore dollars and can change without notice. The price that applies to your order is the one displayed when you complete checkout.

Prices exclude delivery, which is calculated at checkout.

EIEN TEA PTE. LTD. is not registered for GST. No GST is charged on your order, the prices shown are the total payable for the goods, and we cannot issue a tax invoice.

We take care with pricing, but if an item is listed at an obviously incorrect price we are not obliged to sell at it. Where that happens we will contact you before despatch, and you may confirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

Orders & When A Contract Forms

Placing an order is an offer to buy. Our order confirmation email acknowledges that we received it and is not acceptance. The contract between us forms when we email to confirm that your order has been despatched, and it covers only the items named in that despatch confirmation.

We may decline or cancel an order before despatch where:

• the item is out of stock or a lot has sold through;
• a price or description was materially wrong;
• we cannot deliver to the address given, or delivery there would breach import rules or sanctions;
• payment is declined, or we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraud;
• the order appears to be for resale, including repeated orders in quick succession or quantities beyond normal personal use.

Where we cancel, we refund in full. Once an order has been despatched it cannot be cancelled. The Returns & Refunds policy takes over at that point, and you should read it before ordering: we do not accept returns for change of mind.

Payment

Payment is taken on Shopify’s hosted checkout. When you check out you leave eientea.com and complete the purchase on Shopify’s own domain, under Shopify’s terms as our payment processor.

This is deliberate rather than incidental. Your card details are never entered on, transmitted through, or stored by this site. We never see a full card number. Shopify is a PCI DSS Level 1 service provider and carries that scope, and this site is built so that it cannot acquire it. The card form simply does not exist here.

Payment must clear in full before despatch. Where a payment is later reversed or charged back, we may suspend outstanding orders until it is resolved.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use the site unlawfully, or in a way that interferes with anyone else’s use of it;
• attempt to gain access to any account, system or data you are not entitled to, or probe, scan or test the site’s security;
• scrape, harvest or systematically copy content, or use automated means to place orders or reserve stock;
• submit anything false, misleading, unlawful, or infringing someone else’s rights;
• impersonate anyone, or use another person’s payment details.

Intellectual Property

The EIEN name and wordmark, and the site’s design, code, photography, illustration and written content, belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trade mark and other rights.

You may view and print pages for your own use. You may not reproduce, republish, adapt or use any of it commercially, including to train a machine-learning model, without our written permission.

Where you send us feedback, photographs, reviews or ideas, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use them in connection with our business. You keep ownership. We will not use your name alongside anything you send without asking you first.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:

• death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
• fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
• any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including your rights under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act.

Subject to that, we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed, for loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill, or for loss arising from your use of the site for any commercial purpose.

Where we are liable, our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Delivery estimates are estimates, and we are not liable for loss caused by a delay outside our control, including customs, carrier and weather delays.

Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected. Under Part III of the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act, goods that did not conform to the contract at the time of delivery entitle you to ask for repair or replacement and, where that is not possible or not done within a reasonable time, a price reduction or a refund. That right runs for 6 months from delivery and a seller cannot contract out of it.

Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or withdraw access to the site and cancel outstanding orders where these terms have been breached, or where we reasonably suspect fraud or resale. Where we do, we refund anything paid for goods not despatched.

Changes To These Terms

We may update these terms. The version in force when you place an order is the version that governs that order, so a later change cannot alter a purchase you have already made. The date and version at the top of this page tell you which is current.

Governing Law

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction.
